The Catawba Valley Camera Club has announced the winners of its photographic competition for the February 1, 2012 meeting. This was a competition with 2 projected images of “Things that are Broken”.
The Accomplished Division winners were:
First Place – Ed lane: “Running Crayons”
Second Place – Rick Bell: “Out to Pasture”
Third Place – Cynthia Harmon: “Damaged Deer”
HM Tie – Wink Gaines: “Shirley Temple Busted”
HM Tie – Wink Gaines: “Picture Window”
The Intermediate Division winners were:
First Place – Ann Fitzsimmons: “Broken Pier”
Second Place – Chip Young: “Farmhouse Broken Window”
Third Place – Chip Young: “Abandoned”
HM – Dean Powell: “Broken Crystal Vase”
The Catawba Valley Camera Club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month, at 7:00 pm in the North Annex of the Arts Center in Hickory. Meetings consist of competition among members as well as instructional lectures. Field trips are planned throughout the year to enable members to share and demonstrate techniques as well as spend time enjoying photography together. The next meeting will be February 15, 2011. The program will be to critique images of students from Catawba Valley Community College photography class. The public is invited to attend, membership is not required. There will be a club field trip to Old Salem on Saturday February 18th.
